The subsidies for electric cars in 2026 change with the Auto+ Program, the plan that takes over from Moves and has a budget of 400 million euros. Individuals will be able to receive up to 4,500 euros for an electric car. Dealers must add a minimum discount of 1,000 euros on cars and light commercial vehicles, so the combined incentive can reach 5,500 euros.
The amount will not be the same for everyone. It will depend on the propulsion system, the price of the vehicle, and the place of manufacture and assembly of the battery.
When can the Auto+ Plan subsidies be requested?
Purchases made from January 1, 2026, will be able to benefit from the Auto+ Program with retroactive effect. However, the aid can only be processed when the corresponding call is published.
The official page of the Ministry of Industry still conditions access to that publication. Those who have acquired a vehicle since the beginning of the year must keep the invoice, proof of payment, and the documentation of the car.
Dealers, points of sale, and rental companies will be able to help submit applications, as long as they are authorized to sell vehicles in Spain.
How much can be received for an electric car

Points of sale must discount at least another 1,000 euros on the purchase of M1 cars and N1 vans.
The final figure is calculated using the criterion known as EEE: electric, economical, and European. To obtain the maximum, it is not enough for the car to have the ZERO label.
How the aid of the Auto+ Program is calculated
The Government assigns different percentages on the maximum amount:
According to the type of engine
- Pure electric or fuel cell: 50% of the maximum aid.
- Plug-in hybrid or extended-range electric: 25%.
According to the price
For M1 cars:
- Up to 35,000 euros without taxes: 25% of the maximum aid.
- More than 35,000 and up to 45,000 euros: 15%.
For other subsidizable categories, the economic criterion contributes 25%.
According to the place of manufacture
- Assembly and final finishing carried out in the European Union: 15%.
- Manufacture or assembly of the battery in the EU: another 10%.
The percentages are added. A pure electric car of up to 35,000 euros, assembled in Europe and with part of the battery manufacturing in the EU would reach 100% of the aid: 4,500 euros for an individual.

To these amounts, the minimum discount of 1,000 euros provided by the point of sale would be added.
The examples assume that the vehicle meets the rest of the conditions and seek to show how the percentage distribution works. The final figure will depend on the official classification of each model.
Which cars can receive the aid
The vehicles must meet two basic requirements: have the CERO environmental label from the DGT and not exceed the maximum price corresponding to their category.
In the case of cars, the general limit is 45,000 euros excluding taxes and after applying commercial discounts. This limitation does not apply to pure electric vehicles with eight or nine seats purchased by self-employed individuals or companies.
Motorcycles cannot exceed 10,000 euros excluding taxes. They must be fully electric, reach a design speed of over 45 kilometers per hour, have at least 3 kW of power, and offer a minimum range of 70 kilometers.
Vans and quadricycles do not have a price limit within the program.
Do the aids apply to second-hand cars?
The Auto+ Program is mainly aimed at new vehicles registered for the first time in Spain in the name of the beneficiary.
It also accepts certain vehicles sold by a dealership or by a point of sale of the manufacturer or importer. For this, their first registration as a new vehicle in Spain must have occurred since January 1, 2025.
Ordinary sales of used vehicles between individuals are not included.
Who can apply for the Auto+ Plan
Individuals, self-employed persons registered in the business census, professionals and withholdings from the Tax Agency, and companies with their own legal personality may apply for the aid.
Individuals will be able to receive assistance for a single vehicle. The maximum amounts to three vehicles for self-employed individuals and ten for companies.
Companies and self-employed workers will also be able to use leasing. Renting will be available for self-employed individuals and corporations.
What replaces the Moves Plan
Auto+ continues the purchase incentives of the Moves Plan, but introduces industrial criteria. The amount favors the most economical vehicles and those manufactured in Europe. The program is not compatible with Moves Flotas Plus. It also does not contemplate an additional amount for scrapping an old car in the scheme published by the Ministry of Industry. The main reference will be the final call. It will specify the procedure, documentation, and deadlines for submitting applications.
