Meliá Hotels International has communicated the addition of two new hotels located in the commercial district of Sukhumvit, in Bangkok (Thailand), as a result of its alliance with the Thai group Asset World Corp (AWC).

With this operation, the hotel group is introducing for the first time its luxury brand ME by Meliá in Southeast Asia and, at the same time, consolidates the presence of the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand in the capital of Thailand.

The Spanish company has detailed that, since this 6 November, it has taken over responsibility for the operational management of the establishments The Kasem House Bangkok Hotel, with 280 rooms, and The Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 26, with 177 rooms.

Both hotels will retain their current names during the renovation period planned until the end of 2027. Once this phase is completed, they will adopt the brands ME by Meliá and Meliá Hotels & Resorts, respectively.

After these additions, Meliá will have three active brands in Bangkok, where it already manages the INNSiDE by Meliá Bangkok Sukhumvit since 2023.

In addition, the strategic alliance between the Balearic hotel company and AWC includes jointly surpassing 3,000 rooms in Thailand by 2036, an objective that includes the opening of the Paradisus Jomtien Resort in Pattaya, scheduled for 2031.

Currently, Meliá Hotels International has in the Asia-Pacific region a portfolio made up of 46 operating hotels and another 11 projects in different stages of development.
