Nvidia will commit to investing 3 billion dollars (2.679 billion euros) in Meta's initial public offering, after the tech company announced this Monday its plan to raise up to 95 billion dollars (84.834 billion euros). These resources will be dedicated to financing its projects in artificial intelligence through various issuances of common stock and convertible preferred shares.
The group that owns Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram plans to place around 35 billion dollars (31.255 billion euros) through public offerings, and contemplates executing in 2027 a market sale program (ATM) valued at approximately 60 billion dollars (53.579 billion euros).
The company led by Mark Zuckerberg indicated yesterday that Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), and Broadcom had expressed, "individually and not jointly," their willingness to acquire up to a maximum combined amount of 5 billion dollars (4.465 billion euros) in shares through the aforementioned public offering.
In this context, the manufacturer of cutting-edge chips has communicated a new agreement with Meta to intensify their joint work on Muse and the family of models of this AI agent, with the aim of increasing performance both in inference and training. At the same time, it has confirmed that "it will invest 3 billion dollars in Meta's initial public offering."
Meta plans to extend the deployment of Nvidia's infrastructure, incorporating the Vera Rubin and Vera CPUs for next-generation AI agents, with the goal of achieving the highest possible performance per watt. In addition, the company will integrate the Nvidia Spectrum-X and BlueField-4 Ethernet network to enhance the efficiency and performance of its network.
"Meta and Nvidia intend to further deepen their collaboration through the joint optimization of workflows to maximize performance and reduce total cost," stated the company chaired by Jensen Huang.
"Nvidia and Meta are expanding their collaboration to optimize the computing infrastructure from end to end, creating capable, efficient, and secure AI agents, so that Muse can empower billions of people and enable them to achieve greater goals and ambitions," said the CEO of Nvidia.
