The Government of the Generalitat has reached an agreement with Sareb that will make it possible to add to the public housing park the building occupied this Saturday by the Platform of People Affected by the Mortgage and Capitalism (PAHC) of Bages, located on Carrer Fra Jacint Coma i Galí in Manresa (Barcelona), whose eviction was suspended this Sunday.
As it has reported in a statement, Sareb has agreed to cede management of the property and to sign "immediately" the necessary agreement so that the homes are integrated into the public housing park administered by the Generalitat.
The understanding is the result of the actions initiated this Saturday by the councillor for Territory, Housing and Ecological Transition, Sílvia Paneque, with the officials of Sareb, in coordination with the Ministry of Housing and the mayor of Manresa, Marc Aloy.
Paneque has emphasized that the priority of the Government is "to offer effective solutions to the housing emergency and to decisively increase the public housing stock," and she has argued that the pact shows that dialogue and negotiation between administrations and owners make it possible to address "urgent social needs."
With this cession, some units that were empty will be earmarked for social use and the resources available in Manresa will be strengthened to deal with situations of residential emergency.
