The Council of Ministers has given the go-ahead this Tuesday to the establishment of new limits for assuming spending commitments charged to future financial years, in application of Article 47 of the General Budgetary Law. This decision allows the processing of a call for applications in a competitive concurrence regime aimed at cultural action and promotion to be initiated in advance, managed by the Ministry of Culture.

The Coordination Center for Cultural Industries (CCIC) plans to launch a call for applications for "Grants to non-profit entities for cultural action and promotion corresponding to the year 2027", aimed at supporting specific activities and projects in the cultural and creative field that promote professionalization and innovation, with a maximum amount of 2,990,000 euros. Initially, an imputable amount of 1,990,000 euros is set, which may be increased by an additional one million.

Based on the above, the advisability of authorizing spending limits in 2027 is made clear, since in 2026 there is no initial credit, in accordance with the General Budgetary Law. Thus, a maximum cap of 1,990,000 euros for commitment is established for the 2027 financial year. For this reason, and in compliance with this rule, the agreement has been submitted to the Council of Ministers for its mandatory authorization.
