The Chinese company Unitree Robotics, one of the leading global manufacturers of humanoid robots, has closed its inaugural day on the Shanghai Stock Exchange with a spectacular advance of 460.3%. Its shares ended at 845 yuan (108 euros), well above the 150.8 yuan (19.3 euros) set in its initial public offering.

The debut of Unitree took place in the STAR market, the technology segment known as the "Chinese Nasdaq," where its shares marked an initial crossing at 1,100 yuan (141 euros), which implied a rise of 629% compared to the placement price.

With the IPO operation, the robot manufacturer raised 6.099 billion yuan (781 million euros) through the placement of 40.44 million shares, equivalent to approximately 10% of Unitree's share capital.

In an initial stage, the shares held by existing shareholders will be subject to a lock-up commitment of 36 months or, at a minimum, 12 months, according to the different established tranches.

Founded in 2016 under the official name of Yushu Technology, the Chinese tech firm details in the prospectus of its stock market debut that in 2025 it obtained a net profit attributed of 278 million yuan (36 million euros), while the operating revenue reached 1.699 billion yuan (218 million euros).

In the period between 2023 and 2025, Unitree sold 33,294 quadruped robots and 5,632 humanoid robots, consolidating its position in the advanced robotics market.

At the end of July, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added advanced robotic devices to its "blacklist," defined as mobile robots, such as humanoids and quadrupeds, of foreign manufacture, considering that they represent "unacceptable risks to the national security of the United States or the safety of American citizens."

The FCC Covered List is a list of communication equipment and services that are considered to represent an unacceptable risk to the national security of the U.S. or to the safety of American citizens.

Equipment that becomes part of this list is banned from obtaining FCC authorization and cannot receive new licenses, which prevents new devices from entering the U.S. market.

According to U.S. regulations, the Commission can only update its "blacklist" when it receives explicit instructions from the authorities responsible for national security.
