The Spanish Society of General Practitioners and Family Physicians (SEMG) and Cardioalianza have decided to join efforts with the aim of bringing scientific knowledge and the experience of professionals closer to the real needs of people with cardiovascular disease.

Both organizations have signed a framework collaboration agreement that establishes the basis for launching joint initiatives in the areas of information, training, and research, thus creating a new avenue of cooperation between family doctors and patient associations.

The agreement, signed by the president of SEMG, Pilar Rodríguez Ledo, and the president of Cardioalianza, Tomás Fajardo, includes the implementation of actions aimed at strengthening the training of members, promoting research projects, and organizing seminars, courses, and conferences on topics of shared interest.

This alliance responds to the commitment of both entities to work in a coordinated manner so that the collaboration between healthcare professionals and patients contributes to improving the response to cardiovascular diseases.

"Collaboration with patient organizations allows us to incorporate their perspective when identifying needs and proposing initiatives that have real utility for people with cardiovascular disease," says the president of SEMG.

For his part, the president of Cardioalianza considers that "this collaboration is an opportunity to strengthen the connection between patients and professionals and to promote activities that allow for generating and transferring knowledge for the benefit of people affected by cardiovascular diseases."
