MÉS has demanded that the Government "remove" from his position the highest responsible of the Civil Guard in the Balearic Islands, Alejandro Hernández, after he stated that there was no disproportion in the operation that ended with the arrest of two activists accused of causing damage to five real estate companies in Santa Maria, in Mallorca.

The deputy of MÉS per Mallorca in Congress, Vicenç Vidal, has presented in the Lower House a series of written questions directed to the central Executive in which he requests the dismissal of Hernández, who last Tuesday defended the action and investigation of the Civil Guard that culminated in the arrest of the young women.

Vidal considers "unacceptable" that he "denies any excess," instead of investigating the "abuses reported by the two young activists."

The ecosoberanista leader argues that the statements of the head of the Civil Guard in the Islands "disqualify" him from continuing in the position and has asked the Government to clarify whether or not it supports Hernández's words. "The silence of the highest political leaders of the PSOE is increasingly concerning," he has indicated.

In his opinion, a democratic State "cannot normalize" "questionable" police actions nor defend them before fully clarifying all the complaints made.
