A tanker ship transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, off the coasts of Oman, has suffered an attack with two "unknown" projectiles, according to what was reported this Tuesday by the UK's Commercial Maritime Operations Command (UKMTO, for its English-language acronym).

The agency, which depends on the British Navy, has detailed on its social networks that the incident occurred 14 nautical miles to the northeast of the Omani town of Lima and that, for now, no victims or environmental damage have been detected.

"The security officer of a tanker ship has reported that two unknown projectiles struck the engine room," it said in its statement, in which it once again urges the ships crossing the area to exercise extreme caution and to inform the UKMTO of "any suspicious activity."
