The Russian authorities reported this Sunday that at least six civilians have lost their lives and another 25 have been injured, including two minors, after a massive drone attack attributed to Ukraine against the Belgorod region during the early morning.

"Unfortunately, according to updated information, three civilians have died. I offer my sincere condolences to their families. I understand that no words can ease the pain that their loved ones feel," indicated the acting regional governor, Alexander Shuvaev, in a message on social media.

The regional official specified that 25 people have been transferred to different medical centers, including two children aged four and nine. "One child is hospitalized; doctors assess his condition as moderate. Additionally, 13 adults remain in hospitals, one of whom is considered serious," he indicated, while updating the provisional victim count.

Hours later, local authorities reported that Russian rescue teams have located the body of a person under the structure of a building engulfed in flames, while another man who was in critical condition has died in the hospital, thus raising the death toll.

The massive drone attack has also caused damage to several vehicles, in at least two apartment blocks and in various administrative offices. Firefighters and emergency services remain deployed in the affected area to contain the fires and prevent them from spreading to other properties.

TWO DEAD IN KHARKIV

In parallel, the head of the regional military administration of Kharkiv, Oleg Sinegubov, has communicated that two people have died and another 23 have been injured in a Russian drone attack against a residential building in the Saltivski district, early in the morning.

"Five of the injured are hospitalized, including a woman in serious condition. Emergency services continue to work at the site of the attack," he indicated, emphasizing that the immediate priority is to remove the debris from the collapsed floors and check that no one is trapped under the rubble.

According to initial data, the attack — in which two men aged 50 and 66 have died — has destroyed the floors between the seventh and tenth of the building. Among the injured is a five-year-old minor, while another eleven people have suffered injuries due to the shockwave.
