The Russian authorities communicated this Sunday that, after a "massive" Ukrainian attack during the night against the capital of the Belgorod region, located about 40 kilometers north of the border with Ukraine, at least two people have been reported dead and thirteen injured.
"Two men died in Belgorod, one died in the hospital. Thirteen people were injured: seven are hospitalized in medical centers and six are receiving outpatient care," wrote the governor of the region, Alexander Shuaveve, in a message reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.
In a previous report, Shuaveve had indicated that one person had died and another 14 had been injured, specifying that eight of them were being treated in hospitals in the city and that, if necessary, the victims would be referred to federal clinics to continue their treatment.
"Belgorod suffered a massive drone attack last night: one civilian has died and another fourteen people have been injured. In the regional capital, one civilian has died as a result of the nighttime drone attack. I express my condolences to his family, relatives, and loved ones," the governor initially informed through his official channels.
The local authorities have detailed that the attack has caused material damage to 30 apartment buildings, 35 cars, four private homes, three administrative buildings, eight commercial premises, and other social facilities.
For its part, the Russian Army has indicated that, in the last 24 hours, it has destroyed 101 control centers of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
