The Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed this Saturday the attack by the United States against three Iranian-owned oil tankers and announced a retaliation aimed at six ships, including three oil tankers and three other vessels linked to American interests.
In an official statement, the Revolutionary Guard stated that "The Navy of the Revolutionary Guard (...) has attacked three oil tankers that were crossing the Strait of Hormuz without authorization and three vessels linked to the murderer of American girls in other areas".
The text details that on Saturday morning, the American "terrorists" carried out an offensive against three Iranian oil tankers in "a brutal act born of desperation", an operation in which it acknowledges the existence of "damage".
Through this note, the Revolutionary Guard also issues a "strong warning" to all vessels navigating in the Persian Gulf and in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz: "Do not be deceived by the American terrorist army and avoid any suspicious movement to cross unauthorized routes or otherwise you will be attacked".
The spokesman for the Navy of the Revolutionary Guard, Alí Mohammadi, indicated that during the last ten days, between two and five vessels have been "punished" and "fined" each night, even facing those ships that refused to comply with the orders received.
Mohammadi emphasized that "The attacks by the United States have not caused even the slightest problem for the dominance of the Navy of the Revolutionary Guard and the control of this region", insisting that Iran's maritime control capability remains intact.
Missile attack against US warships
In a subsequent statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that its Special Air Force launched several ballistic missiles against an aircraft carrier and a frigate of the US Navy, which it accuses of "causing problems for Iranian ships and participating in the maritime blockade".
According to this note, disseminated by the official agency IRNA, both military vessels have been damaged and, "fearing a new attack", they would have been forced to withdraw from the confrontation area.
The IRGC has also ensured that Washington has been forced to formally admit the aggression against the two vessels. "The admission of CENTCOM (U.S. Central Command) that confirms this operation is a living document of the enemy's strategic defeat and proof of the offensive power of the IRGC," the organization has stated.
In this context, the Revolutionary Guard has reiterated its commitment to continue defending Iran and has warned that there will be new responses if hostilities increase. "If hostile and aggressive actions continue, the U.S. regime must expect strong responses from the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran," it has warned.
"We are stronger than ever," the IRGC has concluded, before highlighting the mobilization of Iranian society and its armed forces against the United States.
