This Monday, five strong detonations have been recorded on the island of Qeshm, located in the northern part of the Strait of Hormuz, in Iranian waters, according to the official Iranian agency IRNA.
An IRNA correspondent has indicated that the explosions occurred successively and that, given the perceived force, everything points to them having originated inside the island.
Residents of Qeshm have stated that they saw two aircraft flying over the area at the time of the events, although it has not yet been possible to verify whether they are related to the detonations.
For the moment, the Iranian authorities and local and provincial sources have offered no explanation or additional details about what happened.
