The Israeli Army carried out a new series of bombings on Sunday over southern Lebanon, after accusing the Shiite militia party Hezbollah of having attacked with explosive drones its troops deployed in a security zone, which in its opinion constitutes a breach of the agreements reached with the mediation of the United States.

In a message disseminated on its social networks, the Israeli forces stated: "Another flagrant violation of the agreements. Hezbollah terrorists launched two drones at IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers operating in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon."

According to the military statement, the Israeli soldiers responded by opening fire against the devices and managed to shoot down one of the "suicidal" drones that was advancing towards their positions, with no injuries reported among the soldiers so far. As a consequence of this incident, the IDF has confirmed that they are attacking "in response" positions of the militia in the southern part of the neighboring country.

The spokesperson for the Israeli Defense Forces, Ella Waweya, detailed the events by stating that "Terrorists from the terrorist organization Hezbollah launched, early this morning (Sunday), two suicide drones against the defense army forces that control the security zone in southern Lebanon. The fighters fired at one of the drones and shot it down. There are no injuries among our forces."
