The Lebanese Executive has communicated that the death toll from the Israeli Army's attacks on its territory since March 2 has already surpassed 4,330 deceased and 12,200 injured, in the context of the resumption of hostilities with the Shiite militia party Hezbollah, despite the ceasefire in effect since mid-April.
In a statement disseminated on social media, the Ministry of Health of Lebanon has detailed that 4,332 people have lost their lives and 12,236 have been injured. Among the dead are 135 healthcare workers, while another 410 have suffered injuries.
Israel's decision to maintain its military offensive in the south of the country has become a point of contention in the recent contacts between the United States and Iran, which claims that these bombings violate the understanding agreement reached to end the war.
Despite this, Israel is said to have begun withdrawing from the so-called pilot zones, included in the pact signed at the end of June with Beirut and the United States, so that they remain under the control of Lebanese forces.
This Monday, a senior official from the U.S. State Department has indicated to Europa Press that Lebanese and Israeli representatives will hold a new round of talks, sponsored by Washington, from August 4 to 6 in Rome, the capital of Italy, with the aim of "promoting" the implementation of the aforementioned framework agreement.
