The Pentagon has reviewed its official record of fatalities linked to the war that began with Iran in February to incorporate a new name, which brings the total number of military personnel who have died in this conflict to 19, without providing additional explanations about the specific reason for this update in its database.
According to the information provided, fourteen of the deaths are framed within the operation 'Epic Fury', while another five are attributed to "operations abroad", without further details. However, the newspaper 'The Washington Post' claims that the new victim would be a service member who suffered a medical emergency last week during a deployment to the Middle East.
Consequently, the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS) now records 19 fatalities since the beginning of the offensive, launched unexpectedly on February 28 in coordination with Israel, in addition to more than 820 injured. Although the parties agreed to a ceasefire in April, several episodes of exchange of attacks have occurred since then.
