The authorities of the United States have assured this Wednesday that they will not forget the "act of barbarism" perpetrated against Israel on October 7, 2023, in the attack by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), reiterating their commitment to the "defense of civilization."
"Today marks three years since the Hamas terrorists tortured, mutilated, and murdered 1,200 innocent civilians in Israel. Among the deceased were men, women, and children, including dozens of Americans," stated U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio in a message on social media.
The head of U.S. diplomacy has thus emphasized that Washington "will never forget the act of barbarism against an ally" and has indicated that, coinciding with the anniversary of the massacre, "it renews its commitment to the defense of civilization."
This Wednesday marks three years since the unprecedented attack by Hamas on Israeli territory, which caused around 1,200 deaths and more than 250 kidnappings, and triggered Israel's military offensive against the Palestinian enclave, a campaign that has so far resulted in more than 74,000 deaths.
On the occasion of this anniversary, leaders from numerous countries have condemned the massacre, expressed their support for the victims, and warned about the increase in antisemitism since then.
