The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has attacked the "disaster" of the central Government in managing the crisis in Ceuta and has warned that Spain will be "invaded, abandoned, and blackmailed by foreign governments." Her criticisms have been disseminated this Wednesday through her social networks, where she reproached that the ministers of Interior, Defense, and Foreign Affairs -- Fernando Grande Marlaska, Margarita Robles, and José Manuel Albares-- "are fighting without defending the Spaniards in Ceuta."
"We have a decomposing Government while Sánchez continues on vacation. Ceuta is the Spain that he is going to leave us: invaded, abandoned, and blackmailed by foreign governments," insisted the Madrid leader, intensifying her reproach of the Executive's actions in the autonomous city.
In similar terms, the counselor of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, has expressed that the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, will appear next September 3 in Congress to inform in a plenary session about the crisis in Ceuta "forced" and has demanded him to "resolve a situation" that has been dragging since July 30, a period in which, he has denounced, he has been "on his vacation all month of August."
International "laughingstock" and reproaches to the management
"The Government of Spain should respond and resolve a situation where at the international level we are being the laughingstock of the whole world," Rodrigo has stated in statements to the media from the Ensanche de Vallecas. He emphasized that another sovereign country like Morocco "is not respecting us" while Sánchez's Government "does nothing," evidencing, in his opinion, that "it does not know how to govern" and that "it is not there when we truly have a problem."
"The ministers and Pedro Sánchez are doing it wrong, they are doing it late, and all is the result of a Government that does not know how to govern and that is focused on other processes and other problems, such as that corruption that is invading them instead of solving the problems that Spaniards have," added the Madrid counselor, deepening his criticisms.
In his assessment, Ceuta "is totally abandoned" by the central Executive, "which is not taking any kind of measures with a series of immigrants who have stormed the fence and who in this case do not know what to do with them." "In the end, what the government is going to try is for us to be the Autonomous Communities who take responsibility for their problems, which is what they always do," he lamented.
These statements come after the Public Health Commission (CSP) has agreed to send to Ceuta up to 45,000 doses of vaccines through the mechanism of solidarity among the Autonomous Communities and the Ministry of Health, with the aim of reinforcing the health response in the autonomous city.
In relation to Sánchez's upcoming appearance in Congress, Rodrigo has emphasized that "it is his obligation," and has criticized that other members of the Government have "also taken a long time" to provide explanations.
