The PP is positioned as the state-wide force that has placed the most women at the head of its lists to Congress for the general elections next November 29, with a total of 28 female candidates, while Vox is the formation that presents the fewest women, with 13 list leaders.

According to the list of candidacies released in the Official State Gazette (BOE) and compiled by Europa Press, the five nationwide formations (PP, PSOE, Vox, Frente Amplio and Podemos) together add up to 111 women heading the different lists to Congress.

In detail, the PP heads the ranking of parties with the most women as number one on the lists to the Lower House. Of the 52 constituencies in which it is running, 28 are led by women, which represents 53.84% of the total.

Just after appears Podemos, despite the fact that in its case it is running in 47 provinces, that is, in all except the four Catalan ones -- by virtue of its electoral agreement with Esquerra Republicana (ERC)-- and in Melilla. Of that set of constituencies, the purple formation led by Irene Montero has placed 25 women at the head of its candidacies, which is equivalent to 53.19%.

PSOE, BEHIND PODEMOS

The third place is occupied by PSOE, which has placed 27 women as head of list in its candidacies for the Congress of Deputies (51.92%). Further away is Frente Amplio, in fourth place, with 18 women heading its lists, which amounts to 36%.

In this last case, the coalition of parties led by the Catalan Ada Colau (of Comuns) is running in all electoral constituencies except in Teruel and in the autonomous city of Melilla.

At the bottom of the list of parties of the national spectrum is Vox which, despite standing in the 52 constituencies, has only placed 13 women at the head of its electoral lists, which represents 25%.
