King Felipe VI has held a meeting with the elected president of Peru, Keiko Fujimori, who this Tuesday will officially assume the leadership of the State in a swearing-in ceremony that the Spanish monarch will attend.
The head of State arrived this Monday at the Callao Air Base, in Lima, where he was received by the current Chancellor of Peru, Carlos Pareja --who previously served as ambassador in Spain--, along with a Honor Cord made up of cadets from the Peruvian Air Force.
Accompanied by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation, Eva Granados, the King later offered a reception at the Residence of the Ambassador of Spain directed at the Spanish community in the country. Among the attendees were actors from Spanish Cooperation, high-ranking officials from Spanish companies, representatives from the cultural and media fields, staff from the Cultural Center, and Spanish officials assigned to international organizations.
Later, at the Government Palace, Felipe VI was received by the Secretary of Security of the Government House of the Presidential Office, Rubén Edilberto Arenas, and held a meeting with the current president of the Republic of Peru, José María Balcázar.
Next, the King walked through the center of Lima to the Torre Tagle Palace, where the elected president, Keiko Fujimori, was waiting for him. After the protocol greeting between the delegations, they held their first bilateral meeting.
Later in the evening, the monarch is scheduled to attend the official dinner offered by Balcázar at the Government Palace.

This Tuesday, July 28, the King will attend the swearing-in ceremony and the supreme command of the new president, which will be held at the Museum of Congress and the Inquisition, in the Peruvian capital. After the ceremony, the monarch has been invited to the lunch that Fujimori will offer.
The Peruvian authorities expect that most of the heads of State and Government will arrive in Lima throughout the day today. After the King's arrival, the president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino; of Paraguay, Santiago Peña; of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi; of Chile, José Antonio Kast; of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa; of Honduras, Nasry Asfura; of Bolivia, Rodrigo Paz; and finally, the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, who will close the list of attending leaders, are expected to arrive.
