The Central General Headquarters of Jatam al Anbiya, one of the most relevant commands of the Iranian Army, has issued a direct warning to the United States this Monday by stating that the naval blockade imposed against the Persian country will not go unanswered. The message comes after denouncing the boarding of several Iranian vessels, including oil tankers, within its territorial waters.
"An act of blockade constitutes an escalation of the war. In a continuation of its malice and the insecurity it generates in the region, and after the imposition of an illegal maritime blockade against Iran, the United States has threatened, during the last three days, Iranian commercial and oil vessels in the coastal and territorial waters of our country," it has denounced in a statement disseminated by the Iranian television network IRIB.
The military establishment has described these actions as "an escalation of the war" in the Middle East and has issued a warning to Washington emphasizing that they will not go unanswered. "As demonstrated by the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the ground, any threat or act of aggression by the terrorist army of that country will not go unanswered and will be countered," it has assured.
According to Tehran, the United States has been carrying out attacks against Iranian targets for several days under the accusation of violating the memorandum of understanding sealed in mid-June, something that Iranian authorities categorically deny. The Iranian government maintains that it is Washington that has violated the ceasefire and that, in response, it has attacked American interests in the region, fueling fears that ongoing negotiations for a peace agreement may collapse.
