The national deputy secretary of the Partido Popular, Cuca Gamarra, has launched an attack against the role of PNV and EH Bildu as support for the Executive of Pedro Sánchez, considering that "they have been the most loyal partners it has had during this legislative term and they have not abandoned it for a single moment." In her view, "their proposal starting from the 29N will be to keep supporting it and more Sanchism. That is what PNV and EH Bildu mean."

These statements were made by her at a PP event in Laguardia (Álava) in defense of the primary sector, where she was accompanied by the candidates for Álava to the Congress and the Senate, Iñaki Oyarzabal and Dani García.

From this town in Álava, Gamarra called for concentrating the vote to stop Sánchez's "corruption" and to bring about the "change" hand in hand with Alberto Núñez Feijóo in the elections of November 29, a date in which, she said, "we have a lot at stake" because "we are in a territory where people put in effort, work and dedicate their lives to doing things to generate wealth."

She asked the residents of Álava to support the PP to achieve "change and management" against "more Sanchism," and she emphasized to those attending that these elections "are about these people," who "invest all their savings" and "get up early and in the end sweat it out to make it all the way through every month to reach the end of the month."

"That is the value of effort, what it means to work constantly, get up early and in the end sweat it out to make it all the way through every month to reach the end of the month," the Popular Party leader reiterated, thereby reclaiming the daily work of self-employed people and small producers.

The Popular Party deputy secretary has strongly criticized the policies of the Government of Pedro Sánchez towards the countryside and the wine sector, arguing that "the lack of aid is what ultimately generates problems and the lack of management is what generates that there are no solutions."

"We are perfectly aware of the difficulties that Sanchism has caused them because the lack of aid is what ultimately generates problems and the lack of management is what generates that there are no solutions and that the difficulties continue to grow," she insisted, holding the Executive responsible for the current situation.

Gamarra outlined the main obstacles that, in her view, the wine-and-agriculture sector faces, emphasizing that "there are problems in the wine sector, a fall in consumption, there are cost increases, there is bureaucracy that makes the countryside no longer be the countryside, but that it has become paperwork."

Against this, she has pointed out that the PP "is committed to eliminating bureaucracy, so that in the end there is differentiated taxation for the self-employed that allows them not to have to file or even be subject to VAT", with the objective of easing administrative and tax burdens.

The popular party spokesperson has emphasized that the citation of 29 November is presented as a dilemma between two projects because, although "there will be many ballots and apparently many candidates", in reality, she said, "all of this is played between two, between whether we want to continue for four more years with Sánchez or whether we want change".

In this context, Gamarra has presented Alberto Núñez Feijóo as the alternative to the current head of the Government, arguing that he embodies "the return to management, to rigor, to experience and, in the end, to govern in order to generate solutions".

Criticism of infrastructure management and rail accidents

The PP deputy secretary-general has also referred to deadly rail accidents recorded on the High Speed line, linking the actions of the Executive with safety problems in infrastructure, especially rail infrastructure.

"We are talking about 115 deaths in two rail accidents on the same line, high speed, which was the envy of the world and has become a problem", she said, to then emphasize that "bad governance, the absence of a government has consequences; corruption has consequences" she criticized.

Adif, detentions and case in the European Public Prosecutor's Office

Gamarra has focused on the latest actions of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) in relation to awards at Adif, in which people linked to the La Moncloa environment have been implicated.

"Yesterday we were seeing how the UCO was going to Adif, requesting files related to high speed and detaining six people from the closest circle again of Pedro Sánchez, including the one who was his former chauffeur", she has claimed, referring to what some sources consider to be the president's ex-chauffeur.

Against this backdrop, she has emphasized that "all those from the Peugeot have already been detained; only Pedro Sánchez is left and we will see if we end up seeing that in our country" she has assured, to add that, "now he says that he doesn't know him but I don't know anyone who has spent days traveling in a car with the same people and says that he doesn't know the driver but that is Sánchez's strategy to try to evade himself" she criticized.

After claiming the vote for the PP on 29N in order to “achieve a change of government that guarantees transparency and capacity in the management of infrastructures,” she has been asked about the opening of an investigation by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) into a possible fraud of European funds intended for the renovation and improvement of security, signaling and communication systems” on the AVE Madrid-Seville line, where the fatal accident occurred near Urda (Toledo) last October 28.

In relation to this case, Gamarra has emphasized that, from the PP, they will follow “very closely these investigations” and that there should be “no doubt” that a future PP government “will collaborate” with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office so that all responsibilities that have to be assumed are assumed, from the point of view of criminal liability, and by everyone who did not dedicate public money to invest in the infrastructure network and to guarantee security, but instead dedicated it to misappropriate it or take it,” she concluded.
