Miriam Guardiola, deputy spokesperson of the Popular Group in the Lower House and former counselor of Tourism and Culture, will be the one to lead the candidacy of the Popular Party to the Congress of Deputies for the Region of Murcia in the general elections scheduled for November 29.
The party announced her appointment this Tuesday through its social networks. On the platform 'X', the PPRM emphasized the "rigor, experience, and work capacity" of Miriam Guardiola to "give voice to the Region of Murcia in Madrid and make possible the change that Spain needs with the Popular Party and Núñez Feijóo."
Guardiola has a degree in Law from the University of Murcia and was the counselor of Tourism and Culture in the regional Executive. In the general elections of 2023, she occupied the fifth position on the PP list for Murcia to Congress. In that call, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, placed Luis Alberto Marín as the head of the list for Murcia, although he resigned his seat in September 2023 to assume the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Murcian Government, a responsibility he currently holds.
For the elections on November 29, Guardiola will again lead the 'popular' regional list to the Congress of Deputies. In recent months, she has had a prominent presence in the sessions of control to the Government in the Lower House, asking questions to ministers such as Fernando Grande-Marlaska.
In addition, she serves as deputy spokesperson of the Popular Parliamentary Group in the Region of Murcia, is part of the Management Council of the Murcian PP, and is a member of the National Executive Committee of the PP led by Feijóo.
