The general secretary of the PSPV, Diana Morant, has pointed out, after the letter sent by the 'former president' of the Generalitat Carlos Mazón to the judge of Catarroja to clarify whether there is any ongoing line of investigation or pending to be opened regarding a possible criminal responsibility for his actions, that, "almost two years later, they still cannot recognize the obvious: they arrived late when it mattered most."
Mazón, through his legal representation, has filed a document before the court of Catarroja that analyzes the management of the dana in which he requests that it be determined whether there is an open or to be opened investigation regarding an eventual criminal responsibility for his action "with sufficient expression of its factual content," in order to know it and present the exculpatory evidence he deems pertinent and, in case there is "no other fact, action, indication, or line of investigation," it be expressly stated.
In the document, Mazón's defense also argues that the issue to be resolved in this procedure is whether it can be affirmed "with the degree of certainty required in criminal law," that the victims –with identification of each deceased person– would not have lost their lives during the dana if they had received "a few minutes earlier the same message that was sent at 20:11 recommending avoiding travel."
Through a message on the social network 'X', Diana Morant has emphasized that "a timely alert could have changed the fate of 231 people." "Denying reality does not bring anyone back, but it makes it clear that there are those who still do not want to assume their responsibilities," she concluded.
