The Secretary General of the PSOE in the Community of Madrid, Óscar López, has demanded the "immediate resignation" of the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, following the controversy generated by the purchase of an apartment by the regional government that, according to the Community itself, would be intended for work meetings of the regional leader.
The socialist leader, who also holds the portfolio of Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function, has confirmed in an interview on "Hora 25" of Cadena Ser that he will take this matter to Justice, the Court of Auditors, and "all administrative bodies" with the aim of denouncing the acquisition of this property by the regional government.
López has defined the procedure followed for the purchase as "opaque" and "not very transparent." "We are going to request all the information, all the files, we are going to go wherever necessary" (...) "But how many lies in a row?", censured the leader of the Madrid PSOE, questioning the version offered by Ayuso's government.
Likewise, he has considered it a "terrible ridicule" the attempt to "justify" Ayuso by the "national PP, with Mr. Feijóo at the head," directly referring to the president of the Popular Party and the strong defense that, in his opinion, is being made of the regional president.
In the final part of his intervention, López has linked this case with the situation of the housing market in Spain and, especially, in the Community of Madrid, where he has recalled that it is the "only place where the" rental limit provided in the housing law is not applied because the president "Ayuso does not want thousands and thousands of Madrilenians who pay unbearable prices for purchase or rent to benefit," the minister emphasized.
