Patxi López, Rafaela Romero, and Javier Hurtado will lead the PSE-EE lists to the Congress of Deputies for Bizkaia, Guipúzcoa, and Álava, respectively. This proposal will be raised this Wednesday afternoon by the territorial executives to their provincial committees for internal validation.

After the approval of these bodies between congresses, the candidacies, like the rest of the socialist lists, will receive final support on October 17 at the Federal Committee that the PSOE will hold in the Madrid town of Fuenlabrada. On the same day, the candidacies for the Senate will also be ratified, led by Daniel Senderos in Álava, Alberto Albistegui in Guipúzcoa, and Txema Oleaga in Bizkaia.

In a statement, the PSE-EE emphasized that it bets on profiles "with significant political weight" and that have "a deep knowledge of the reality of the three territories."

In Bizkaia, the current spokesperson in the Congress of Deputies and lehendakari, Patxi López, will repeat as number one. He will again be followed by the current Secretary of State for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women, María Guijarro, and the Secretary General of the Socialist Youth of Euskadi (JSE-Egaz) and also a deputy in the legislature that is now concluding, Gabriel Arrúe.

On the list for Guipúzcoa, Rafaela Romero will again occupy the first position after having been a deputy in the last legislature, "which has allowed her to acquire extensive experience in areas such as housing, transport, or equality."

The main novelty in this constituency is the incorporation of the Secretary General of the PSE-EE of Guipúzcoa, the first deputy general and provincial deputy for Sustainability of Guipúzcoa, José Ignacio Asensio, "in a clear bet for the highest level of responsibility." The Director of Territorial Planning of the Guipuzcoan Executive, Lore Suárez, is in third place on the list.

In Álava, the candidacy will be headed by the Secretary General of the territory, Javier Hurtado, who has served for six years as the counselor of Tourism, Commerce, and Consumption and has "a solid political profile" and "extensive management experience." In second and third place are the councilor of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council Ana López de Uralde and the managing director of the public company Arabat, Igor Salazar.

Among the heads of the list for the Senate, Txema Oleaga has been part of the Upper Chamber in this legislature, while Daniel Senderos has been a deputy in the Congress. For his part, Alberto Albistegui is the spokesperson for the PSE-EE in the General Councils of Guipúzcoa since the year 2024. The Alava senators Paula Somalo and Adolfo Lánder repeat on the lists.
