The head of the PSOE list for Valencia in the general elections on November 29, Pilar Bernabé, has announced that she will focus her campaign entirely in the city of València, with the intention of covering it "without leaving a single street," because her "ultimate goal" is to reach the mayoralty in the municipal elections of 2027. "I am going to dedicate myself to it body and soul," she emphasized.
The socialist leader appeared this Thursday at the PSPV headquarters after "activating" the electoral committee of the socialists of València for November 29. The number 1 for Valencia left her position as government delegate earlier this week and will run next year as the PSPV candidate for the mayoralty of València.
During her speech, supported by the members of the electoral committee, she accused PP and Vox of avoiding the November 29 campaign because, in her opinion, they do not want to detail their proposals and seek for "people not to know what they are preparing and to vote based on rumors." She cited as an example what happened this Wednesday with the visit to Spain of the president of Argentina, Javier Milei: "Milei comes to Spain because he represents exactly the opposite of this country."
In her view, Milei's attitude is "exactly" the same as that of the right-wing deputies in Congress and that of figures from Vox and PP such as Santiago Abascal or Vicent Mompó, whom she reproached for their "insults" at rallies and on social media. "This is the school created by those of the international far-right, but this country is better than them," she defended, calling for "standing firm" on November 29.
Furthermore, she highlighted that the PSPV was "the only" party that registered its candidacies for the general elections this Wednesday, while the lists from the PP in the Comunitat Valenciana remain unpublished. "Let's see if they get encouraged," she joked, arguing that this delay is due to the fact that when PP and Vox "stick their little foot out, everything is a torrent of nonsense," as she recalled has happened in recent weeks with the controversy over pensions.
In contrast to that strategy, Bernabé has announced that the PSOE will focus on touring València to convey its project and emphasize the importance of participation in these elections. "During these 38 days we will not leave a single space unexplained," she insisted, calling on the people of Valencia to reflect on their vote and choose to "continue advancing" alongside the government of Pedro Sánchez.
