The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has requested to intervene in the Plenary of Congress scheduled for September 9 in order to inform about the actions of the Executive "in relation to the events that occurred in Ceuta since July 30," according to sources from the Government.
The request is registered hours before the Permanent Deputation of Congress examines this Wednesday the initiative of the PP for Sánchez to be required to appear urgently in a plenary session and provide explanations about the migration crisis in Ceuta. In addition, the 'popular' will propose that ten other ministers be called, including the eight who already have their appearance scheduled in committee in the Lower House.
The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration and spokesperson for the Government, Elma Saiz, stated this Tuesday that the head of the Executive will attend "of course" to Congress to provide explanations about the migration crisis in Ceuta, although she avoided specifying the exact day by emphasizing that "he does not manage the president's agenda."
"Let no one be surprised" that he comes to account in Parliament, she added, because it is "usual" and he is the president "who has appeared the most" in the Cortes.
