Sumar has registered in Congress a request for the director of the National Intelligence Center (CNI), Esperanza Casteleiro, to appear behind closed doors and detail what the actions of the intelligence services were during the migration crisis that occurred in Ceuta last week.
The initiative has been presented by the IU deputy Enrique Santiago, representative of Sumar in the Commission of Reserved Expenses of Congress, the parliamentary body responsible for the oversight of the CNI.
"It is necessary to prevent Morocco from using refugees and migrants to carry out hybrid attacks," Santiago has pointed out on his 'X' account, in a message in which he communicates the request for the convening of the so-called Commission of Official Secrets. This body, chaired by the president of Congress, Francina Armengol, is responsible for deciding its meeting.
Vox also demands explanations from the CNI
Vox has also registered a request for Casteleiro to appear and clarify whether the secret services alerted or not about the possible mass entry of immigrants that occurred on July 30, when numerous people arrived by swimming to the beaches of Ceuta bordering the breakwater of El Tarajal.
The Government maintains that the intelligence services did not convey any warning about a migratory movement of the magnitude that took place that day, an explanation that the PP flatly rejects and considers not credible.
The Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, pointed out this Tuesday that they only handled the forecast of a possible increase in arrivals to Ceuta, similar to that of other summers, and that this year could coincide with the ruling of the Supreme Court that prevents the application of the so-called hot returns to those who access without overcoming a physical barrier, as happened with those who reached the autonomous city by swimming, where a maritime barrier has now been installed.
