The BNG deputy in Congress and the head of the list for A Coruña, Néstor Rego, has called in Rianxo for support for his party with the aim of achieving "a stronger BNG" that will make it possible "to make Galicia count" and safeguard the community’s interests in Madrid.
During a public event, Rego highlighted the work carried out by the party in the Cortes, emphasizing compliance with the agreement reached for Galicia on matters of rail and road infrastructure, the discounts on the AP-9 and AP-53, the funds allocated to dependency, the debt write-off, and the increase in the minimum pensions.
The nationalist candidate has presented the BNG as the "alternative" in Galicia and as a "barrier against the reactionary right-wing and far-right bloc," calling for broad participation in the upcoming electoral event on 29 November.
With regard to the maritime sector, Rego has stressed that fishing activity has constituted a "priority" for the BNG, citing measures such as the cancellation of the EU’s 87 fishing bans, the demand for a new fishing agreement with Mauritania, the increase in quotas for sardines, studies on the loss of productivity in the ria waterways, and the strengthening of aid due to the rise in fuel costs.
On the other hand, the number two on the A Coruña candidacy, Rosana Pérez, has said that the BNG will manage to "keep Vox out" in this province and has stated that she will be the organization’s next deputy in Congress.
