The government spokesperson, Elma Saiz, has detailed that there will be 40 reports that will be declassified, with dates ranging from July 1 to August 1, linked to the crisis in Ceuta caused by the massive entry of about 80,000 migrants from the border with Morocco. She also emphasized that more relevant documents will be made public if there are any, as the Executive has "nothing to hide."
Saiz specified that, starting this Wednesday, through the Moncloa website, it will be possible to consult "all the documents that are in the hands of the Government of Spain" and insisted that citizens will have access to "the information that is available," stressing that they act with transparency criteria.
In the press conference following the Council of Ministers, the spokesperson indicated that there are approximately 40 texts that will be disseminated and that, for this, the Executive has carried out "an important task of anonymizing" in order to declassify and disclose those reports "that were relevant." She also pointed out that documents affecting National Security will follow their usual "course" in the Official Secrets Commission of Congress.
Response to Feijóo's Criticism
Saiz also replied to the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who in an interview on 'Antena 3' questioned whether the reports from Ceuta that the Government is going to declassify are not "edited" and stated that he trusts "much more" in the investigation being carried out by the National Court.
For the government spokesperson, Feijóo "would do well to behave like a true leader of the opposition" and to be "a statesman who stands by the Government with responsibility and prudence," instead of relying on "conspiracy theories or misinformation."
"The time horizon to restore normality to Ceuta and to solve this crisis depends on collaboration between administrations. Undoubtedly, being an opposition party that only puts sticks in the wheel does not help the people of Ceuta at all," Saiz reproached, calling for institutional cooperation instead of confrontation.
