The Central Electoral Board (JEC) has decided this Monday to activate the party commission responsible for assigning the free electoral propaganda spaces that will be broadcast in public media during the campaign for the elections on November 29.
In the specific case of the electoral propaganda spaces issued by RTVE, the commission will be made up of a representative from each party, federation, or coalition that is running in the general elections and that has had representation in Congress in the legislature that has just concluded.
Parties that run alone in some constituencies and in coalition in others may only designate a single representative in that commission.
The first meeting of this body has been called for November 4, with sufficient time before the official start of the electoral campaign, set for midnight on November 13.
At the same time, the JEC entrusts the Provincial Electoral Boards with the implementation of the party commissions for public media at the regional and local level.
According to the Organic Law of the General Electoral Regime (LOREG), the distribution of these free electoral propaganda spaces must be based on the results of the previous elections to the Congress of Deputies in the dissemination area of each medium, although slots are reserved for extra-parliamentary formations.
