The Mercantile Society Aguas de las Cuencas de España (Acuaes) and the General Community of Irrigators of Negratín, in the region of Baza (Granada), have held a working meeting to specify the priorities for the drafting of the construction project of an action aimed at securing about 6,500 hectares of irrigated land, with the aim of signing an agreement before the end of the year.
The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge has informed in a statement of this meeting, in which the president of Acuaes, María Rosa Cobo, met in Madrid with the president of the irrigators, Jose Antonio Azor, with the aim of outlining the terms of the agreement for the drafting of the project that will allow the specification of the necessary high network works for the consolidation of the Irrigable Zone of Negratín.
In the same note, it is specified that the presidents of the irrigator communities integrated into the General Community of Irrigators of Negratín participated in the meeting: Siete Fuentes Negratín of Baza, Fuente de San Juan and La Reina de Baza, Llanos de Caniles, Zújar Freila, and Santo Ángel de Freila.
According to Acuaes, the goal of this meeting is to be able to sign the agreement before the end of the current fiscal year and, immediately afterwards, proceed to the immediate launch of its bidding.
