The Vice President of the Government of the Principality of Asturias, Gimena Llamedo, has reiterated this Sunday her support for the wolf management model applied by the regional Executive, while at the same time emphasizing how quickly compensation for the damage this species causes to the livestock sector is processed. "Asturias is unn example for other autonomous communities," she said.

Llamedo has expressed her "utmost respect" for the protests of the livestock sector, which this midday gathered in Arriondas, and she stressed that "the model and the commitment" of the regional Government is "clear."

In statements to the media, the Vice President recalled that the wolf management plan is currently operational and has already allowed the extraction of 16 specimens, which represents more than 20 percent of the more than 60 contemplated, within a scope of action that will last until the end of 2027.

The regional official compared the Asturian strategy with that of other communities governed by the Partido Popular, such as Galicia or Cantabria, where, as she indicated, the resolution of the aid is delayed more, presenting the management of the Principality as an "example" for other territories.
