The Minister of Rural Environment and Agricultural Policy of the Asturian Government, Marcelino Marcos, has met with the representatives of the eight cooperation projects integrated in the plan "Saborea el Paraíso", endowed with 1,706,562 euros to strengthen the promotion and sale of Asturian agri-food products protected by differentiated quality schemes.
According to the resolution of these subsidies, released this Wednesday in the Official Gazette of the Principality (BOPA), the actions will be carried out between this year and the next through campaigns and specific actions aimed at increasing knowledge of these foods, improving their positioning in the markets, and facilitating their arrival to new consumer profiles.
In the meeting, the minister underlined the relevance of supporting projects that make it possible to highlight the quality and singularity of Asturian productions, strengthen their competitiveness, and open new avenues of development for the agri-food sector. This support for foods with a quality seal implies, in turn, recognition of the work of the producing people and a boost to economic activity in rural areas. Altogether, the eight projects mobilize 2.6 million and are oriented toward different quality productions of the Principality.
