The Minister of the Sea, Marta Villaverde, emphasized the support of the Galician Government for the modernization of facilities and the purchase of equipment in the marine-industry chain.
According to the regional Executive in a press release, the Minister of the Sea visited the facilities of Artesa Rías Baixas, located in the industrial park of Barro, this Monday.
During the visit, she highlighted the relevance of companies like this in the transformation and marketing of products from Galician artisanal fishing, as they contribute to increasing their added value and boosting economic activity and job creation in the area.
Throughout the tour, Villaverde stressed the support that the Xunta has been providing for the development and technological updating of companies in this field. Since 2016, the regional Government has granted Artesa Rías Baixas nearly 800,000 euros.
This amount was allocated to optimize cold storage facilities, acquire vehicles and transport equipment, launch its transformation, packaging, and shipping plant, and, more recently, to increase energy efficiency in production and mobility processes.
In this regard, Villaverde highlighted the company's commitment to quality and traceability, given that its seafood products have the "PescadeRías, de onde se non?" label, promoted by the Consellería do Mar to identify foods from artisanal, selective, sustainable, and responsible fishing.
