The counselor of the Presidency, Luis Miguel González Gago, has assured that on April 23, Community Day, it will continue to be celebrated with its central event in Villalar de los Comuneros (Valladolid) and with free music concerts in all provincial capitals of Castilla y León.
During his intervention before the Commission of Economy and Finance of the regional Parliament to explain the budget of his department for 2027, the head of the Presidency emphasized that the anniversary of Community Day is an "instrument to reaffirm the commitment to the economic, social, and cultural development of Castilla y León, in addition to being an occasion to recognize the value of heritage, history, art, language, and regional traditions."
As he indicated, in 2027, the first year in which this day will be celebrated under the new coalition government of PP and Vox, Villalar de los Comuneros will host the main event with the delivery of the Folk and Traditional Music Awards of Castilla y León, along with institutional collaboration in the recreational activities of the municipality. At the same time, the Junta plans to expand the celebration with free concerts, races, and family walks in twelve locations: the nine provincial capitals, Ponferrada, Aranda de Duero, and Miranda de Ebro.
On another note, González Gago has announced that the Foundation for the Promotion of Values and Identity of Castilla y León will continue with the preparatory work for the 800th anniversary of the union of the Kingdoms of León and Castilla in 2030. Among the proposed activities is an itinerant exhibition about Doña Berenguela la Grande and the completion of the research project on the royal itinerancy of Fernando III el Santo, in addition to support for the commemoration of the Laws of Burgos, the 5th Centenary of the School of Salamanca, and the 475th anniversary of the Controversy of Valladolid.
Regarding the promotion of the regional image, the Ministry has reserved around 1.5 million euros to sponsor elite sports clubs participating in the highest divisions of their collective disciplines, with the aim of projecting the brand "Castilla y León nos Impulsa" throughout the country.
Finally, the department's accounts include the review and update of the Corporate Identity Manual of the regional Administration, with special attention to its adaptation to new formats and digital communication channels.
