The regional secretary general of the PSOE and spokesperson for the Socialist Parliamentary Group, Carlos Martínez, will question the president of the Junta, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, this Tuesday, September 22, during the Plenary of the Cortes, to detail what actions his Executive has taken in defense of the agricultural sector. "How much more does the countryside have to lose?" will be the question with which the socialist leader will open the session.
After Martínez's initial question, the representative of Por Ávila integrated into the Mixed Group, Pedro Pascual, will take the floor, directing his control question to the head of the regional Executive. Mañueco must specify whether the Junta values, in line with the announced duplication by the Community of Madrid for the M-501 road, maintaining that same solution in the first sections of the CL-501.
Next, the PSOE will ask its questions to the two vice presidents of the Junta, both focused on the migratory reality. The socialist representative Nuria Rubio will address the first vice president, Carlos Pollán, from Vox, to clarify whether he can guarantee that no person will be subject to discrimination in Castilla y León in accessing public aid due to their origin.
On the other hand, Patricia Gómez Urban will ask the second vice president, the 'popular' Isabel Blanco Llamas, if she can assure that Castilla y León "continues to be a land of welcome."
The socialists will also take advantage of the control session to address other issues with the members of the PP-Vox coalition government, such as the deadlines for having an updated diagnosis of absenteeism in the Community, the relationship of the regional Executive with the municipalities, or the policy of concerting high school studies.
Once the questions from the Socialist Group are finished, it will be the turn of the Mixed Group. Unión del Pueblo Leonés (UPL) will register three questions directed at the government team of the Junta. The first will focus on the legal conflict of boundary delimitation that the City Council of Cabrillanes maintains against the Principality of Asturias and the Asturian council of Somiedo.
The other two questions from UPL will address the situation of the stroke unit in Zamora and the management of the start of the academic year in the province of León.
The block of oral questions on the agenda will be closed by the prosecutor of Soria ¡Ya!, Ángel Ceña, who will demand that the regional government study the implementation, for the 2026-2027 academic year, of the free first enrollment for the first year of university degree.
The plenary session will continue with the section of interpellations. The first, registered by the Socialist Group, will address the general policy on agriculture and livestock. The second, included in the quota of the Mixed Group, will focus on the general policy of roads.
The third point on the agenda provides for the debate of two motions, both promoted by the Socialist Group, which will include proposals on cultural heritage and housing.
The ordinary plenary, the second of the legislature, will close with the discussion of four non-legislative propositions (PNL). As the groups advanced last Thursday after the meeting of the Table of the Cortes and the Board of Spokespersons, these initiatives will correspond to PSOE and PP, since neither Vox nor the Mixed Group have a quota of PNL in this session.
The four non-legislative propositions will revolve around the Government's aid to the autonomous communities to increase the supply of affordable housing, the reform of autonomous financing, the free university enrollment for first-year students, support for the primary sector, and the situation of the pact of the Board with NGOs.
