The magistrate Arturo Zamarriego has decided to put an end to the case opened as a result of the complaint filed by the former deputy Íñigo Errejón against the actress Elisa Mouliaá for alleged slander, after she attributed to him an alleged crime of extortion against two witnesses who testified in the proceedings in which another judge, Adolfo Carretero, prosecuted the former political leader for an alleged crime of sexual assault.
As published by 'El País' and confirmed by legal sources to Europa Press, Zamarriego communicated this Wednesday to the parties the order of dismissal and archiving of the complaint, in line with what was requested by the defense of the interpreter.
The two witnesses were the organizers of the party where the sexual assault allegedly took place and appeared in the first case as witnesses. It was then that the actress accused Errejón of having extorted them to alter their statements.
"Mouliaá reacted on her social network X (formerly Twitter), spreading false statements about Errejón regarding his relationship with said witnesses, with whom he would have communicated, falsely imputing him a crime of extortion so that they would testify in his favor," explained the lawyer of the former politician in a document.
The legal representation of Errejón first promoted a conciliation act, in which the former deputy demanded from Mouliaá an economic compensation of 10,000 euros if she did not retract her public statements. The actress refused that conciliation, which allowed the former parliamentarian to file the complaint for having attributed to him the alleged extortion.
In her document, Errejón's lawyer included several messages published by the actress on the aforementioned social network. "NO. Errejón refused to hand over his mobile phone because he had extorted two of my witnesses. Do not invent reality," Mouliaá published in response to information disseminated by various media outlets.
During the processing of this case, the judge issued an arrest warrant against Mouliaá after the actress failed to appear several times for the summons to testify. Finally, the interpreter appeared before the court and Zamarriego annulled the order.
