The program 'Malas Lenguas', from RTVE, has generated controversy due to the selection of images used during information about the police operation against Núcleo Nacional. The segment presented by Jesús Cintora used images of Santiago Abascal and of Álvaro Zancajo, responsible for Communication at Vox, while addressing the police investigation against the organization.

The broadcast drew attention for the presence of the president of Vox and one of its main communication collaborators in a news item whose protagonist was Núcleo Nacional. In addition, over Zancajo’s image there appeared a graphic element similar to a target, a resource that has also been called into question on social networks.

The sequence was shared by journalist David Santos on his X account, where he posted a screenshot of the broadcast and questioned the choice of the images: «Can someone explain to me why Malas Lenguas while they talk about the raid against Núcleo Nacional, include Santiago Abascal in the image and inside a target Álvaro Zancajo?».

Zancajo has occupied the national coordination for Vox’s Communication since October 2024, when he was incorporated into the party’s structure to direct its communications strategy. His appearance alongside Abascal in the television piece adds a political element to the criticism regarding the selection of images made by RTVE’s program.

The controversy coincides with the police operation carried out last Friday, November 6, against Núcleo Nacional, which resulted in 14 arrests and ten searches in seven provinces: Madrid, Asturias, Guadalajara, Valladolid, Pontevedra, Burgos, and Alicante.

Among those arrested are several of the organization’s main members, such as Isabel Peralta, Enrique Lemus, and Alberto González de Juan, known as Alberto Pugilato. The investigation focuses on alleged crimes of incitement to hatred, illegal association, and weapons possession.

Police inquiries have their origin in some incidents recorded last February near the Jesuit school La Inmaculada in Gijón, where several young people reported having suffered assaults.
