The spokesperson for the CUP, Su Moreno, has emphasized that "independence is antifascist, as demonstrated" on Thursday by the people gathered by various groups to reject the presence of AC in the Fossar de les Moreres in Barcelona.
In statements made this Friday after the traditional tribute of the CUP for the Diada to Gustau Muñoz, an independence activist murdered by the police in 1978, Moreno has criticized the deployment of the Mossos d'Esquadra in the Fossar. In her opinion, "The Government of Salvador Illa yesterday only lacked putting out a red carpet for Aliança Catalana" so they could manifest with total normality, and she has also denounced the aggression suffered on Thursday by the photojournalist Jordi Borràs in the same place.
Moreno has insisted that the commitment to independence is key for the future of Catalonia: "Without independence, we have no future as a people, we have no future as a nation, we have no future for our language, and we also have no future for the working class."
