The young Catalan Andrea Llopart was one of the major signings of Ignacio Dancausa for his new stage at the helm of Nuevas Generaciones of the Partido Popular. The Catalan leader landed in the leadership of the youth organization as one of Dancausa's bets to strengthen his team and also become one of its main public voices.
But the review of her activity on social media recovered by Demócrata reveals an extensive archive that is hardly compatible with some of the positions historically defended by the Partido Popular. Her own messages and reposts on X, formerly Twitter, deleted after her appointment by the leader herself show harsh criticisms of leaders of the formation such as José María Aznar, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, or María Guardiola, while the current spokesperson for NNGG celebrated interventions by Vox and praised Sílvia Orriols, leader of Aliança Catalana.
“It is lamentable and desperate”
One of the most striking messages is addressed to former Prime Minister José María Aznar. After the former PP leader stated that he felt ideologically closer to the PSOE of Felipe González than to Santiago Abascal, the current spokesperson for Nuevas Generaciones harshly criticized him. “It is lamentable and desperate. An eternally complexed right embracing a ‘good’ PSOE that has never existed.”
It was not an isolated episode. Llopart's activity on X reflects a recurring criticism of what she considers excessive moderation of the Partido Popular and any attempt to distance itself from Vox.
Feijóo and the “officially abortionist party”
The current spokesperson for Nuevas Generaciones also spread messages especially critical of the national leadership of Alberto Núñez Feijóo. Following the PP's position on abortion, Llopart shared posts in which the popular party was labeled as an “officially abortionist party” and certain decisions of the leadership were described as “humiliation” and “cowardice.”
The archive thus outlines a discourse that is, on numerous occasions, to the right of the official position of the party in which she currently holds one of the main communication responsibilities of her youth organization.
Ayuso is not spared either
Not even Isabel Díaz Ayuso, political reference of Ignacio Dancausa and main supporter of his rise within the youth structures of the PP, is left out of the criticisms spread by her spokesperson. Llopart republished messages from the former Vox leader Víctor Sánchez del Real against the Madrid president for her position regarding the violent protests at Ferraz, in which Ayuso's attitude was questioned and the consequences of certain political strategies were warned about.
María Guardiola was also the target of his attacks. In one of his messages, Llopart wrote that the Extremaduran president “is going to destroy the PP again.” In another, he categorically rejected any possibility of rapprochement with Junts: “There is no good Junts, there never was and there never will be. Let's see if you get it once and for all.”
Demócrata
While accumulating criticisms against leaders and positions of the PP, the youth leader showed a very different attitude towards Vox. Llopart publicly applauded interventions from Santiago Abascal's formation and celebrated some of its initiatives with messages like “Great” or “THANK YOU,” accompanied by applause emoticons. The contrast is a constant in his activity: criticisms of the supposed timidity or moderation of the PP and support for speeches and initiatives from Vox.
Llopart's archive is not limited to the state political space. The current spokesperson for Nuevas Generaciones also showed her admiration for Sílvia Orriols, leader of Aliança Catalana. The popular leader even described one of her parliamentary interventions as a “Great speech!”, spreading the words of one of the main references of the Catalan independentist far right.
On the playing field
The recovered publications also include particularly harsh messages in the sports field. After a post from footballer Íñigo Martínez with a estelada, Llopart wrote: “This fucking bastard should never play for the @SEFutbol. I hope his professional career sinks soon.” In other messages, he used derogatory expressions against FC Barcelona and attacked various institutions and security bodies.
The extensive digital activity of Andrea Llopart now places under scrutiny one of the signings of Ignacio Dancausa for his new direction of Nuevas Generaciones. The leader who was supposed to become one of the public voices of the new stage of the organization, however, accumulates a press archive marked by criticisms of some of the main leaders of the PP and a repeated alignment with Vox and other references situated even further to the right. A digital past that threatens to become an uncomfortable problem for the new direction of Nuevas Generaciones and, especially, for whoever decided to incorporate her into their team.
