Arcos Dorados, the main franchisee of McDonald's in Latin America and the Caribbean, obtained in the first half of 2026 a net profit attributed of 81.1 million dollars (70.4 million euros), which represents an increase of 120.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The turnover advanced by 13.6%, reaching 2.522 billion dollars (2.188 billion euros). Of that amount, the sales of the restaurants directly managed by the company totaled 2.407 billion dollars (2.088 billion euros), while the revenue from franchised establishments reached 111.6 million dollars (96.8 million euros), with increases of 13.6% and 14.4%, respectively.
By geographical areas, Brazil generated 992.1 million dollars (860.5 million euros), 21.6% more, placing it at the head of the group. Next was the rest of South America, with 859.5 million dollars (745.5 million euros), 6.9% more, and the North America division, which contributed 670 million dollars (581.2 million euros), 11.8% more.
The adjusted gross operating result (Ebitda) of Arcos Dorados rose to 244.8 million dollars (212.3 million euros) for the entire semester, representing an advance of 21.6% and a margin of 9.7% on sales.
In parallel, the sum of operating costs and other expenses incurred by the company amounted to 2.386 billion dollars (2.070 billion euros), an increase of 13% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Regarding only the second quarter of the year, Arcos Dorados recorded a net profit of 45 million dollars (39 million euros), 99.3% higher, accompanied by revenues of 1.306 billion dollars (1.133 billion euros), 14.3% more.
"Total revenues, adjusted Ebitda, and net profit recorded strong growth in dollars despite the difficult situation of the consumer market in the second quarter of 2026," stated the CEO of Arcos Dorados, Luis Raganato.
"In fact, revenues, which amounted to 1.300 billion dollars, were the highest ever recorded in a quarter thanks to the better performance of customer volume in the last six," he added.
Opening forecasts and dividend policy
The multinational already communicated in March that it plans to launch between 105 and 115 new locations throughout 2026 and allocate a capital expenditure (capex) of between 275 and 325 million dollars (238.5 and 281.9 million euros).
In addition, the board of directors of Arcos Dorados gave the green light to the payment of a total dividend of 0.28 dollars (0.24 euros) per share, which will be paid in four installments with scheduled dates for April 2, June 26, September 25, and December 29.
