The securities analysis unit of Bank of America has reiterated its buy recommendation on CaixaBank and maintains a target price of 14.20 euros for its shares, according to a report released this Tuesday by its analysts.
With the bank’s current share price around 11.55 euros, that target price would imply an upside of close to 23%.
The U.S. entity expects the Catalan bank’s net interest income to increase by around 15% year-on-year in 2027. The experts detail that, at the beginning of the year, financial institutions had protected themselves against possible interest rate cuts, but increases have finally taken place. Although this context delays the repricing of assets, they consider that such an adjustment will ultimately materialize.
In parallel, the report projects that commissions will continue to advance, while the efficiency ratio will continue on its downward path.
"We believe that the value of deposit franchises (those banks that operate with a large 'stock' of non-interest-bearing checking accounts) should have a greater premium relative to their peers," Bank of America analysts have indicated, estimating that CaixaBank will be able to mitigate higher inflation in its costs.
For fiscal year 2026 as a whole, the analysis firm calculates that CaixaBank will obtain a profit of 6.643 million euros; for 2027 it forecasts earnings of 7.657 million and, looking ahead to 2028, places them at around 8.415 million.
