The Dutch health technology group Philips obtained in the first nine months of the year a net profit attributable of 562 million euros, which represents an increase of 12.6% compared with the same period of the previous fiscal year, despite the fact that between July and September its profit was reduced sharply to 27 million euros, compared with the 184 million recorded a year earlier.
In that same interval through September, the multinational reported revenue of 12.658 billion euros, a figure slightly lower than that recorded in 2025, while operating profit rose to 1.015 billion euros, 14.8% more year on year.
In the third quarter, Philips' revenue increased by 2%, to 4.393 billion euros. However, an extraordinary expense of 293 million euros included in the other expenses item weighed heavily on the period's accounts, causing the quarterly profit to plunge.
By business areas, the diagnosis and treatment division contributed 2.085 billion euros, practically in line with the previous year; the connected care unit added 1.176 billion euros, 0.02% less; and the personal care business reached revenue of 953 million euros, which represents an increase of 8%.
"Our results so far this year, together with a solid order book, give us the confidence needed to meet our annual forecasts and achieve our medium-term objectives," said the CEO of Royal Philips, Roy Jakobs.
"As we move forward in close collaboration with our customers, our teams around the world work with dedication to place quality at the center of our operations, in order to offer better care to a greater number of people," he added.
On the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, Philips shares were rising to 26.16 euros, above the previous close of 24.52 euros, which implies an appreciation of 6.7% in the session.
