The First Vice President and Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, will travel to Ukraine this week accompanied by about 50 Spanish companies, where on Wednesday and Thursday he will participate in several events alongside the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, and will participate in the signing of various agreements.

According to the official agenda released this Tuesday by the Ministry, Cuerpo will arrive in Kyiv along with "nearly fifty" Spanish companies, which make up a large business delegation.

This Wednesday he will take part in the Act of Ukrainian Statehood, led by the Ukrainian president, and in the launch of the Hispano-Ukrainian Business Council, a new forum to strengthen bilateral economic ties.

On the same day, the signing of several agreements is planned, for which details have not yet been provided, as well as the inauguration of the Business Meeting. Afterwards, Cuerpo will hold a meeting with the Spanish press, tour the airport facilities, and sign a private agreement.

On Thursday, the fifth Hispano-Ukrainian Joint Commission on Trade and Investment will be held, according to the program sent by the Ministry in a statement.

Sources from the department had already announced that the Spanish mission would include about 47 companies and around a hundred people, and that the trip would have a marked "institutional and economic" character.

The central purpose of the trip is to strengthen the commitments made by Ukraine at the 2025 reconstruction conference, continue progressing in accompanying the country in its accession process to the European Union, take advantage of the "excellent" political dialogue between both parties and strengthen economic and commercial relations, in addition to showing "solidarity" with Ukraine and facilitating the entry of Spanish companies into its market.

In this regard, the Ministry led by Cuerpo intends to "get a foot in the door early" and make a commitment to "be ahead" to present Spain as "a first-class strategic partner," with a medium and long-term commitment, and to position its companies as added value for Ukraine's possible future incorporation into the EU.

Participating companies will be able to study firsthand the investment and collaboration opportunities offered by the country in areas such as energy, the railway sector, defense, and digitalization, and contribute to the reconstruction process, according to the same sources.
