Carrefour has surpassed the threshold of 700 stores with ultrafast delivery service after increasing its capacity by 40% so far this year, according to a statement it issued this Wednesday, thus "consolidating one of the largest nationwide coverage networks of 'quick commerce' in Spain".

Specifically, the French retail multinational has detailed that "this milestone" is reached after adding 200 new establishments in recent months to its specialized network for this type of delivery.

"Unlike traditional 'online' shopping, this model seeks to respond directly to customers' urgency in the face of last-minute needs," the company has indicated, specifying that, thanks to this, consumers can "resolve urgent purchases from their mobile through Glovo, Uber Eats and Just Eat, with the guarantee of receiving fresh products selected at the moment with the same quality as at the physical counter".

The e-commerce director of Carrefour España, Justyna Torres, has emphasized that its goal is for "making a last-minute purchase to be as easy as opening an 'app' and having the order at home in half an hour, while maintaining the same quality and prices as in physical stores". As "pillars" that support this omnichannel growth strategy, Carrefour transfers its "main advantages" from physical stores to the digital channel.

Members of El Club Carrefour obtain 3% of the amount of their purchases in their "ChequeAhorro". Added to this benefit are "exclusive promotions" aimed at those who place their orders from their mobile.

In addition, the company is testing a nighttime 'delivery' service in large metropolitan areas with strong demand, such as Madrid and Barcelona, to handle urgent orders outside standard business hours.
