The president of ClosinGap, Marieta Jiménez, together with its Board of Directors, the Advisory Council, and the rest of the association's team, have expressed their "immense sadness" following the death of Fátima Báñez in the railway accident in Urda (Toledo).

From the organization they recall that "Fátima was a much-loved and appreciated colleague, especially close and committed to ClosinGap. She firmly believed in the purpose of ClosinGap and in that of moving toward a society with more opportunities for all", according to the issued statement.

The association also wanted to highlight "always willing to add, to contribute ideas and to promote initiatives, her support, her generosity and her affection toward our association were a constant since she joined the project", underscoring her involvement in the different initiatives promoted by ClosinGap.

The message concludes by noting that "today we deeply feel her loss. What remains for us is her mark and the memory of everything shared with those of us who were lucky enough to know her and work by her side", and extends its condolences both to Báñez's family and close ones and to the relatives and loved ones of the rest of the victims of the accident.
