The president of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, has updated the official balance of the railway accident that occurred in Urda (Toledo), placing at 68 the number of deaths recorded so far.

According to what he explained, only judicial authorization remains pending in order to be able to continue the in-depth inspection work and continue investigating whether more fatal victims can be located among the mass of twisted metal into which several of the carriages of the two trains involved have been turned.

As for the injury report, García-Page has detailed that 53 passengers classified with yellow category, 15 with red code in serious condition, and the rest have received minor care.

The Castilla-La Mancha president has also indicated that canine units will be deployed with the aim of continuing to search the area and look for possible passengers alive among the remains of the railway disaster.
