The Council of Ministers has given its approval to a framework agreement for the joint purchase, by Spain and Poland, of Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft, with an estimated budget of 5.4 billion euros.
The main objective of this agreement is to incorporate MRTT aircraft and ensure the necessary logistical support for their entry into service and proper operational functioning.
Likewise, the framework agreement, using the instrument "Action for the Security of Europe" (SAFE, for its acronym in English), includes an addendum that records the participation of the Republic of Poland in this aircraft acquisition operation, whose financing will be structured according to this European mechanism.
The validity of this agreement will extend for a period of seven years from its formalization.
